Why is the top of my dryer getting hot?

Why is the top of my dryer getting hot?

If the top of your dryer seems too hot, STOP using the dryer right away! Lint can build up inside of the dryer, or the vent line can be restricted. This restricts the airflow and traps all the heat from the heater inside the dryer. When your dryer overheats, the element can become brittle and break. When that happens, it might spark and ignite a fire!
Things you can do:
Suppose you can find the cap on the outside of your home and check its overall condition of it. If it's broken, have it replaced.
Check to make sure the clothes are completely dry. Your dryer should not take longer than 45-60 min to dry a normal load of clothes.
When your dryer finishes, remove the clothes as soon as possible and leave the door open to allow the dryer airflow to cool down.
