Conventional wisdom is that all the lint will just blow out with a leaf blower, but did you know that dryer lint mixes with the moisture being vented from the dryer and crates a very strong paper machete-like substance that sticks in the pipe and elbows? The only way to remove this build-up is with the proper abatement tools and or brushes. Sometimes the pipe is so rusted or compromised that it needs to be repaired or replaced. It's best to trust the skill of a trained pro to inspect the way the pipe is run, how tight the seams of the pipe are, the condition of the transition, the exterior cap, and check for rust in the pipe.
